Thursday: Solemnity of the Ascension—Holyday of Obligation:
Vigil Mass on Wednesday at 7pm; Thursday Morning Mass at 10am. No
morning Mass on Wednesday.
Novena to the Holy Spirit, in preparation for Pentecost, begins on
Friday. According to the Acts of the Apostles, the disciples and Our
Lady were at prayer for the nine days in preparation for the coming of
the Holy Spirit at Pentecost—hence the practice of nine days of intense
prayer for a special intention (novena = nine).
Scripture Corner and Rosary: Thursday at (May 29) at 7pm – Chapter 14 of
St John’s Gospel.
Soup/Sandwiches lunch for Christian Aid. Many thanks to the (vineyard)
workers and organisers; donors of soup/sandwiches; all who came. A
total of £680 was realised for Christian Aid. Well Done Everybody!
