This term we read the Book of Exodus—the dramatic account of the Hebrews being rescued from Egypt and their entry to the Promised Land.

It is the ideal book to read for Lent.

This week we will read from the Book of Exodus chapters 13—-15.

All Welcome.

Parish Notes—Sunday, January 9, 2022

i. Catholic Bishop’s Conference of Scotland
It had been the intention of the Conference to restore the obligation of Sunday Mass at the beginning of this year, 2022.
However, in the light of the recent deterioration, the return of the Sunday obligation has been suspended. The Bishops invite parishioners who cannot attend Mass to join them in personal prayer, in spiritual communion, and, if possible, by on-line Masses .
The Bishops ask for prayers for the end of the epidemic , for all those who suffer in any way from its consequences and for all those who have lost their lives to it. The Bishops end the announcement by invoking the intercession of Our Lady, Health of the Sick, and also that of St. Andrew and St. Margaret.

ii. Following on that announcement, in Our Lady’s we will continue with the celebration of the 10 a.m. Sunday Mass but in a shortened form.
We will also suspend the celebration of Mass on Wednesdays until a more favourable time.
We repeat the Government’s request to take every precaution when attending Mass in Our Lady’s.

iii. The Mass for the first anniversary of Bishop Logan will be celebrated in the Cathedral, Dundee, on Friday, January 14, at 12 noon

iv. The Mass for the first anniversary of Monsignor Harty will be celebrated in St Mungo’s, Alloa, on Friday, January 21, at 7 pm.
