A Plenary Indulgence can be gained for the holy souls by visiting a Church on Tuesday and praying for them.

A similar indulgence can be gained by visiting a cemetery from Tuesday, November 1—Tuesday, November 8, and praying for those buried there.

What is a Plenary Indulgence ?
The Church, the Bride of Christ, has been given the power of the keys of the kingdom of heaven. She exercises this power by a request to her Groom, Jesus the Lord, to heal the spiritual wounds remaining in a person after the guilt of his sins has been forgiven. She attaches this request to some good deed like praying for the Holy Souls, going on a pilgrimage or similar good work. It is very like the period of recuperation after an operation. The problem has been removed, but the body needs time and treatment to recover. Hence the need for penance after forgiveness in Confession and the great benefit of gaining an indulgence for the healing of the traces of sin and sinfulness remaining in us.

Care not Kill: There is a bill before the Scottish Parliament to legalise assisted suicide. This is against the law of God which teaches us to care for the dying, not to kill them A petition form is in the porch if you wish to sign it .

Please pray for the sick and suffering: Bill Beggs; Catherine Lynch; Gemma Nicol; Anne Murray; Mgr Ken McCaffery; Frances Brown; Yvonne Campbell; Sheena McPhee; Tom Leavy ; others in our community who are ill, housebound or suffering in any way

For the recently deceased : Carol Warham; for those whose anniversaries occur around this time : Liam and Margery French; former parishioners and priests of Our Lady’s and our own loved ones .
