Saturday Vigil Mass at 5pm.

Sunday Morning Mass at 10 am. May Devotions at 5pm.

Second collection this weekend for Communications Sunday.

Next Sunday, May 19: Solemnity of Pentecost and the end of the Paschal Season.

A Novena (nine days of prayer) is first mentioned in the Acts of the Apostles where we are told the disciples were at prayer with Mary, from the Ascension until Pentecost. Hence the practise of novenas in the church–nine days of intense prayer. The Novena in preparation for the coming of the Spirit at Pentecost starts this Friday, May 10.

Scripture Corner either at home with family/friends or in Church –Thursday at 7pm. This week we are reading Acts of the Apostles Chapters 10-12.

From these chapters onwards, St Paul and his missionary activities becomes the main subject of the narrative.

Sick: Monica Kidd; Eoin French; Emma Davis; Tony Davis; Mary McGraw, Frances Notman and other members of our community who are ill or housebound.

Recently Deceased: Mary Campbell; Fr Martin Chambers; Fr John Chalmers, those whose anniversaries occur at this time; former parishioners and friends of Our Lady’s.

Assisted Suicide–Care; not Kill.

The bill presently going through the Scottish Parliament to allow assisted suicide will, if passed, change our society for ever, and in particular it will damage the medical profession and our confidence in its members. The right to die can quickly become an obligation to die. Once the principle of assisted suicide is accepted, matters will get worse and worse, and the care of the dying will be more and more neglected. We are being encouraged by the Scottish Bishops to write to our MSPs and make our views known to them. Don’t put it off–it affects everyone of us. Thank You.
