We extend a very warm welcome to Bishop Andrew McKenzie who was ordained on Saturday.

We pray he may be given many blessed years of ministry and service in our diocese; also may he enjoy good health and happiness.

Please pray for the sick and housebound: Eoin French; Monica Kidd; John Cullivan; Norma Giulianotti; Frances Notman;

Margaret Saunders; Emer Sheridan; Viki Cszerni.

We also pray for their nurses and carers, and for anyone worried or upset at this present time.

We remember the recently deceased; those whose anniversaries occur at this time, former parishioners and friends of Our Lady’s.

Wednesday: St Maximilian Kolbe. A Franciscan priest, prominent for his work as a writer and preacher in Krakow before WW2. He was arrested by the Germans at the invasion of Poland and sent to Auschwitz. A prisoner escaped and ten prisoners were selected to be starved to death in retaliation. One man complained because he had a wife and children, and Fr. Maximilian volunteered to take his place. Still alive after two weeks while the other nine had died, Maximilian was killed by a lethal injection.

Please pray for peace in the world, and for good order and peace in our country.
