Confirmations. Congratulations to the young people be who were
confirmed last Sunday. We pray that Jesus will always keep them, and
their families, close to His
Sacred Heart. Many thanks to all who helped with the Confirmation
Mass last Sunday – the children themselves and their families; Norma
Giulianotti, the ladies who cleaned and prepared our beautiful Church,
all those who helped in the hall and those who so generously donated
sandwiches, cakes, etc., and for the congregation. Lastly, thanks to
the vineyard workers who prepared the hall, manned the kitchen and
cleared up afterwards. Well done everybody.
We pray for the sick and housebound of the parish; and for all those
presently distressed or worried. For those who have died recently;
anniversaries; Jimmy McGraw, former parishioners and friends of Our
Lady’s.
Monday: St Michael, Gabriel and Raphael, Archangels. Feast.
Tuesday: St Jerome. He translated the Bible into the common Latin
language of the time (4th century) known as the Vulgate. It is still
the official version of the Bible in the Church. One of the Fathers of
the Church. Died in 420.
Wednesday: St Therese of the Child Jesus – ‘The Little Flower’. Died in
Normandy in 1897, aged 24. Was named a patron of France in 1947, and
Doctor of the Church In 1997.
Saturday: St Francis of Assisi – Patron of the environment. Died 1226.
